Easy sticky pork belly

Easy sticky pork belly

Ingredients

  • 500 g high-welfare pork belly slices
  • sea salt
  • 115 ml light soy sauce
  • 1 juice of an orange
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp cider vinegar
  • 1 garlic clove, minced

Instructions

  • Pre-heat the oven to 170 C.
  • Score the fat on the pork belly slices and season with salt.
  • Place the pork belly slices onto a baking tray and cook for approx. 10 mins, then turn to do the other side.
  • To crisp the fat up, lean the slices against each other and place them under the grill (watch carefully) for approx . 5 minutes. Remove once nice and crisp.

Honey garlic glaze

  • Add all the ingredients into a saucepan and gently bring to a boil then simmer until the sauce thickens a little – approx. 3 – 5 minutes
  • Drizzle the glaze over the pork belly slices.
  • Serve on rice with some greens e.g. pak choi, charred gem lettuce, purple sprouting
